                                                       AMELIA BUCHAN

 

BUCHAN, AMELIA, 85, of St. Petersburg, died Thursday (Feb. 1, 2001) at Mariner Health of Pinellas Point. She came here from her native Brooklyn, N.Y., in 1946. She was co-founder with her late husband of Buchan's Bottled Gas and Fuel Co. She also developed commercial properties, including Buchan's Corner at 38th Avenue N and 49th Street. She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Jude the Apostle. Survivors include three sons, Douglas C. and Russell P., both of St. Petersburg, and Gerard, Crescent City; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.                                                       RUSSELL BUCHAN

 

BUCHAN, RUSSELL P., of St. Petersburg, born (May 24, 1947) at St. Anthony Hospital of St. Petersburg is still alive. He lives in St. Petersburg at 1910 Brightwaters Blvd, Snell Isle. He is presently the owner of Buchan Gas Company, a company founded by his parents, Charles and Amelia Buchan. He now owns the commerical properties developed by his parents including Buchan's Corner at 38th Avenue N and 49th Street which he acquired in questionable probate proceedings when his mother, Amelia Buchan passed away. Russell is a bachelor. Russell was raised in the Catholic faith, his current Church affiliation is unknown. He has two brothers, Douglas C. of St. Petersburg, and Gerard of Crescent City; five nieces and nephews; six grand nieces and nephews, none of whom Russell has spoken to since the passing of his mother, Amelia Buchan.
